What's included in the gift sets?

How long is the typical production/shipping time for pre-orders?

All our handmade ceramic gift sets are available on pre-order. Production times are approximately 2-3 months.

If you need a gift sooner, please contact us to see what ready-to-ship options we have in stock.

Can the gift sets be shipped directly to the recipient with a gift message included?

Yes, the gift sets can be shipped directly to the recipient along with a message. When placing your order, please provide the recipient's shipping address as the delivery address and write your gift message in the notes.

If you are purchasing gifts for delivery to multiple addresses, please check out separately for each address.

What packaging do the gift sets come in?

Gift sets come in either a two-section brown kraft box or a white box with a magnetic flap. All sets are filled with wood wool. Please check the individual product listings for more details.

What materials are your ceramic gift sets made from?

Our ceramics are handcrafted from stoneware clay and are glazed for an easy-to-clean surface.

Stoneware can be fired to high temperatures resulting in a more durable product which is less porous and absorptive. This makes our ceramics stronger and more resistant to cracking.

How durable are the glazes and finishes? Can they go in the dishwasher?

All our products are food safe, featuring lead-free, cadmium-free glazes which are scratch resistant and ideal for everyday use. The glossy smooth finish makes cleaning super easy.

They are completely dishwasher safe, although handwashing is kinder and will preserve their quality and longevity. Harsh dishwasher detergents can dull glazes over many cycles and cause crazing (tiny cracks that aren't always visible to the naked eye).

What makes your ceramics unique?

All my pieces start by throwing a form on the pottery wheel. As such, slight variations in shape and glaze tones reflect the handcrafted production methods. Styles range from modern to traditional, but all showcase beautiful craftsmanship.

Each glaze recipe has been formulated from scratch and is unique to me, meaning you won't find these exact finishes and colours anywhere else. At Katie L Thompson Designs each piece is handcrafted and one of a kind.

Can the ceramics be used in the microwave or oven?

While our ceramics can safely go in the microwave, we do not recommend using them in the oven or freezer due to the risk of thermal shock.
